This bowl is a typical example of the copper alloy drinking vessels commonly used in the late Ottoman Empire’s culinary culture. The bowl was hand-forged, with a handle made of iron and secured to the body with rivets. These cups were used in village coffeehouses, inns, military units, and homes to carry beverages such as water, sherbet, ayran, and hot soup. They were standard kitchenware in many parts of Anatolia, particularly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The patina and traces of use on the surface indicate that these cups were both functional and durable. Production dates from 1890 to 1930 are evidenced by the distinct handwork, the abandonment of the riveted iron handle design after the mid-20th century, and the distinctive shape of the mouth and body from the Ottoman period to the early years of the Republic. The cup is free of cracks and deformations. It measures 6-8 cm in height and has a mouth width of 9 cm.
